トルクメニスタンはジュエリーにおいてもっとも知られた国のひとつです。この地域は、イスラム化以降、ジュエリーでも強い影響を受けました。人々はトゥマルという独特の護符入れを身につけはじめました。筒状の部分は空洞になっていて、コーラン（イスラムの聖典）の一章が納められ、邪なものから人々を守ってくれたのです。トルクメニスタンにはさまざまの民族があります。例えば、エルサリ、テケ、ヨムート、サロール、オラムなど、それぞれの名で有名です。各民族は、一目で違いがわかるように特徴的なジュエリー様式を持っています。

Turkmenistan is the most popular country in the world of jewelry. After Islam, religion in the country had a strong effect on the art of  jewelry. People started  wearing amulet holders known as Tumar, which is the famous jewelry ornament, inside which verses from Quraan ( Holy Islamic book ) is kept to keep them safe  from evil.There are various tribes in Turkmenistan. The famous tribes among them are; Ersari, Teke, Yumut, Salor, Ulam. Each tribe has their own design of art on Jewelry, which can be easily differentiated.
